Ten earthquakes between 5.0 and 6.4 have shaken Puerto Rico since December 2019 at a time when the island is still recovering from Hurricane Maria. Thousands have been forced from their homes and are sleeping outside. Denver Spanish Network and Dos Abuelas are traveling to the island in a pre-planned Spanish immersion trip that is now expanding into a relief project.
Our goal is to deliver 200 solar powered lights and 15 Project Cure medial kids to the small towns near the epicenter of the earthquakes.
$10 purchases one MPOWRD solar light. These lights will be distributed to families without power or at risk of outages to allow them to cook, read, do homework and other important activities after dark. Shipping is generously donated by Piper and Heath Travel, and lights will travel with and be personally delivered by our team.
$230 purchases and checks a bag of $2,000 worth of medical supplies from Project Cure. These will be distributed to medical centers nearest the epicenter of the earthquakes and other high needs areas around the island. These kits will travel with and be personally donated by our team.
